UPSC Notification 2026: Educational Qualification
A candidate must hold a Graduate degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, OR
From other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament, OR
Declared to be a Deemed University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, OR
Possess an equivalent qualification.
Important Notes
- Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
- Such candidates must produce proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of Interview/Personality Test.
- Valid proof includes: Degree Certificate / Final Mark Sheet / Provisional Degree Certificate.
- Candidates who passed final professional MBBS or equivalent medical examination but have not completed internship can apply provisionally, but must produce proof of completion of internship at the interview stage.

- Stage 1: Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination
- Objective type (Multiple Choice Questions)
- Stage 2: Civil Services (Main) Examination
- This stage has two parts:

- 2 papers are qualifying in nature
- Marks of compulsory papers are counted for ranking
